Assist 9th-12th graders in choosing extracurricular activities of genuine interest with opportunities for leadership
Assist 9th-11th graders in planning rewarding summer activities
Assist 9th-12th graders with standardized testing timeline and strategy
Provide an overview of application components and relevant timing
Identify elements to strengthen in students’ profiles and provide guidance to do so
2. Consult as to institutions that best fit the students’ abilities and interests
Introduce students to methods that help them learn about and evaluate options
Assist in researching schools and narrowing down options into categories of “highly likely,” “ballpark,” and “reach,” with a focus on fit
3. Consult with students as they navigate the college application process
Discuss Early Action, Early Decision and regular admission options and decide logical approach
Create an organizational timeline
Create a resume
Create an activity list
Strategize essay topics
Provide guidance and support throughout the essay writing, including helping in the revision of multiple essay drafts
Assist with application completion and submission
Discuss college visits, including timing and a list of “to-do” activities
Work with students on interview skills
Assist students in final college selection
