Consult with 8th grade families regarding 9th grade class choices, electives, and extracurricular activities
Assist 9th-12th graders in selecting appropriately challenging academic classes
Assist 9th-12th graders in choosing extracurricular activities of genuine interest with opportunities for leadership
Assist 9th-11th graders in planning rewarding summer activities
Assist 9th-12th graders with standardized testing timeline and strategy
Provide an overview of application components and relevant timing
Identify elements to strengthen in students’ profiles and provide guidance to do so

2. Consult as to institutions that best fit the students’ abilities and interests

Introduce students to methods that help them learn about and evaluate options
Assist in researching schools and narrowing down options into categories of “highly likely,” “ballpark,” and “reach,” with a focus on fit
